Manage your Increasing Stress during EXAM TIMES

Stress seems to be very complimentary the moment exams approach. There are a lot of factors that will make you stress full but the name of exams is something that more often triggers it. Admirable students will pause, reflect and choose a path that will help them overcome the impasse, not just wait for the wave to engulf them.

Though it seems unavoidable but smartness stays in managing it so that it can drive you to improve your work. Here are some of the ways to smartly manage your stress levels and help you get through your exams the best way you can.

Don’t look at your study material as a whole chunk to be grasped. Just go slowly and divide your study material into small units and go step by step. Make a time table and try sticking to it.

You won’t even realise but during your  stress you will be checking your Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other media apps more often because you think its going to ease your stress. What is recommended at this point of time is to detach yourself from all of these as it leads to a significant waste of time with further distracting your mind. Stay focused on your goal with a focussed mind.

Group study helps to ease out stress . If you're not as strong in certain areas, it could help by talk to other students and learning from them as well. If you are good at it, share the brain-wealth and this will help in your revision.

Good sleep along with healthy food is the most important factor not to ignore. Most importantly, sleep helps your brain to assimilate new knowledge into your long-term memory so that you can recall it when it comes to test day. So It’s very important to have a fairly good amount of sleep for the body and mind to relax. Also good food at small intervals will keep your body and mind healthy

It’s very important to take small breaks during your study routine. This helps in breaking stress and rejuvenating your mind. Take a small walk, listen to good music and do whatever that makes you relax and calms your mind.

Meditation is one of the most effective ways to take a break and see your stress from a different perspective. Practising meditation is another way to maintain focus while improving both mental and physical health to reduce pre-exam stress.

Why Go Green This Diwali

When we talk of "DIWALI", the first thing that comes to our mind is light, crackers, fun and joy with family and friends. But, the biggest thing (in fact evil) ignored by everyone is "POLLUTION." Chandigarh University requests you all to show that-- "YOU REALLY CARE." Let us all celebrate Green Diwali and fill our homes with Lights and Prayers, instead of with Fumes and Crackers.

Smart Ways to Celebrate Green Diwali

The festival of lights - Diwali - celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Celebrate this Diwali by keeping in mind an important cause of saving our universe.  So instead of polluting the atmosphere with fireworks, let’s celebrate a safe and environment friendly 'Green Diwali'.

Opt for Diyas instead of Electric Lights
Do not use electric lights to brighten your home. Instead, choose for diyas and candles. Electric lights consume a vast amount of power and the effects of it will be felt in the long run. Otherwise use LED lights as they use 80% lesser electricity than the regular ones.

Cut Down on Crackers
Although Eco-friendly crackers have hit the Indian market big time and are certainly less polluting than others, this Diwali give the fireworks a complete miss with other fun options.

Use Natural Colours
In previous times, rangolis were made to feed the birds. This Diwali, celebrate this Diwali by making your rangoli with spices and other food items.

For Example:-

Use rice powder for white colour.
Use Pulses or turmeric for Yellow colour.
Use Cloves or cinnamon for Brown colour.
Use Cardamom or fennel for Green colour.
Use Dried chilly or even kumkum for Red colour.

Use Natural Flowers
Express your nature love this Diwali by investing in natural flowers instead of artificial ones. Natural flowers add a freshness to the surroundings with their fragrance.

Personalize your Gifts
Choose environment-friendly and healthy herbal gifts items this Diwali for gift options. You can choose from hand-made candles, lampshades, organic gift-baskets, gourmet coffees etc.

Reutilize your Old Stuff
Diwali is to give away your old stuff like clothes, shoes, etc to the less privileged ones. Rather than letting your old items sit idle, have them donate.

CUFEST2015 DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS - Sneak peek into the highlights of the most amazing cultural festival CUFEST 2015. Rewinding the most memorable moments, outstanding performances and amazing experiences.

Why Facebook Employees Work On 2G Connections On Tuesdays

Why Facebook Employees Work On 2G Connections On Tuesdays

Facebook has been constantly working to improve the overall browsing experience of the social platform on the slower Internet connections. Earlier this month, the company has updated its News Feed stories, making the experience on 2G connections better.

Now, Facebook has announced launch of an internal initiative named "2G Tuesdays" that will slow down the speed of internet connections used by their employees, making them better understand the problems related to using of social platform on the slower internet connections prevalent in the emerging market. While announcing the initiative, Product Manager Chris Marra has explained in detail the whole idea behind 2G Tuesdays.

"People are coming online at a fast rate in emerging markets. In most cases, they are doing so on mobile via 2G connections. But on a typical 2G network, it can take several minutes to download a webpage. That doesn't make for a great experience when sharing content with friends and family.

To build for a global audience like ours, we know that we need to design features that work seamlessly even on a 2G network," Marra said.

Under the 2G Tuesdays, the employees will intentionally have to use the slow internet connection for the social platform and other related apps. Particularly, they have the option to opt-in for a slow Internet connection for an hour. The entire initiative is taken to better address the issues in existing and future builds.

Detailing the entire concept, Tom Alison, Director of Engineering (Facebook), told Business Insider, "For that next hour, their experience on Facebook will be very much like the experience that millions of people around the world have on Facebook on a 2G connection. They're going to see the places that we need to improve our product, but they're also going to see the places where we have made a lot of progress."

Facebook is continuously working to improve the user experience and has already highlighted some of innovative technologies like a system that allows the app to work out according to the users' internet connection and then shows News Feed stories accordingly (avoiding videos if a connection is slow) for instance.

Google's Artificial Intelligence Will Answer Your Emails Soon

Reverting to each email whether important or not is really a time consuming task. To abolish this issue, Google unveiled an innovative technology of 'Automated Reply' for its users.

The new tool aims to write artificially intelligent responses to your emails and is a part advanced Google's Inbox app. This conspicuous feature is an incredible example of Google's effort to become a true personal assistant by handling the tasks as typically handled by humans. RankBrain, Google's acknowledged artificial intelligence smart system was based on determining the pecking order in its influential internet search results.

The new "Smart Reply" system from Google is built on a system of neural networks. It identifies the incoming emails merit quick responses and subsequently figures out the appropriate wording for response. It provides up to three choices before the message is sent. The selected response then helps Google's computers to learn which ones work best.

The feature is expected to be more popular among those who check emails on smartphones equipped with small and touch-screen keyboards. This feature is available for the businesses that pay for Google's suite of applications designed for work and free version users as well. The company will unveil the system for the public soon.

TCS Raised Hiring Target To 75,000 Employees This Fiscal

Chandigarh University (CU) uncovers good news for its Computer Science and Information Technology students as India's largest software firm, TCS has recently increased its hiring target to 75,000 from 60,000 for this fiscal due to its promising demand in the software industry. According to the company, the attrition rate has stabilized at 16.2% during the second quarter as compared to the previous quarter, consequently raising the need to bring it down in the later quarters of the fiscal.

Executive vice president and global head Ajoy Mukherjee said, "We have revised upwards our hiring target due to the strong growth witnessed in the first half of the year. Accordingly, we will be hiring 75,000 this fiscal as against 60,000 as planned earlier." Such attrition in the domestic market is unbearable and the company has witnessed a remarkable decline on a month-on-month basis.

In order to bring-in satisfactory conditions, the company has earlier raised its hiring target by 10,000, resulting in desired improvement. The total revenue generated by the firm this quarter stands at Rs 27,165.50 Crore and revenue from a Digital Service segment also hiked by 13%-- said MD & CEO N Chandrasekaran.

Illustrating the employment as a wide phenomenon, Mukherjee said, "everyone who leaves ... people that we have in IT, it includes BPO, it includes people who have been hired for a project and once the project is over then they leave, all that is counter as attrition."

Interview day is the D- Day when one needs to put forward their best. It can get unnerving at times but you should prepare yourself to handle every situation and question very smartly. Here are few tips for you to crack your interview in the first go.

A thorough or reasonable knowledge about the concerned company would be always beneficial as then you can customize your answers according to the company’s working style.

Develop your verbal communications skills. Having great management or technical skills and a strong record of accomplishment is not helpful if you can't verbally convey you successes.

Remember, the job interview is a platform to market yourself. It is a strategic conversation with a
purpose. Your goal is to persuade the employer that you have the skills, background and ability to do the job and that you can comfortably fit into the organization and its culture.

Look confident but not appear brash. Most people no matter how good they are sometimes just cannot handle themselves during their interviews. Just try to relax. Work on your communication skills from now itself. Learn to answer as succinctly as possible. If you are nervous do a few mock interviews with your friends.

This is one of the most important parts of an interview. A company will tell you what's in it for you, but you've got to read between the lines and ask honest questions. You don't want to be unpleasantly
surprised once you join, and in case you have questions about your designation, profile, responsibilities, salary, etc., it's time to shoot those questions now.

Accenture plans to hire 1,00,000 in FY16

Acenture plans to hire about 1,00,000 people in FY16 and spend as much as $1 billion on acquisitions, as it invests in new technologies at a scale that far outstrips its Indian rivals. At its investor conference in New York on Wednesday, Accenture outlined its strategy for its financial year ending August 2016.

"Last year we hired roughly 1,00,000 people. Though the number isn't set for this year, we expect to hire roughly in the same range," David Rowland, chief financial officer at Accenture, told investors and analysts.

At that pace, Accenture will remain the second-biggest employer in the IT industry. Tata Consultancy Services had overtaken the company in headcount in 2013, a title Accenture has since taken back.

TCS' hiring, the most aggressive among Indian IT firms, will be around 65,000 in FY16, falling far short of Accenture's recruitment. TCS' financial year ends in March.
Accenture is also beating its Indian IT rivals in the amount of money it is deploying for acquisitions. Rowland said the company which spent about $850 million on acquisitions in FY15, had estimated it would spend between $900 million and $1 billion on acquisitions in FY16.

Accenture also said it would focus its business on three 'new technologies' -- digital, cloud and cyber security, which together contribute $10 billion to its top line or a third of its overall revenue.
