TCS Raised Hiring Target To 75,000 Employees This Fiscal

Chandigarh University (CU) uncovers good news for its Computer Science and Information Technology students as India's largest software firm, TCS has recently increased its hiring target to 75,000 from 60,000 for this fiscal due to its promising demand in the software industry. According to the company, the attrition rate has stabilized at 16.2% during the second quarter as compared to the previous quarter, consequently raising the need to bring it down in the later quarters of the fiscal. Executive vice president and global head Ajoy Mukherjee said, "We have revised upwards our hiring target due to the strong growth witnessed in the first half of the year. Accordingly, we will be hiring 75,000 this fiscal as against 60,000 as planned earlier." Such attrition in the domestic market is unbearable and the company has witnessed a remarkable decline on a month-on-month basis. Accenture plans to hire 1,00,000 in FY16

Acenture plans to hire about 1,00,000 people in FY16 and spend as much as $1 billion on acquisitions, as it invests in new technologies at a scale that far outstrips its Indian rivals. At its investor conference in New York on Wednesday, Accenture outlined its strategy for its financial year ending August 2016. "Last year we hired roughly 1,00,000 people. Though the number isn't set for this year, we expect to hire roughly in the same range," David Rowland, chief financial officer at Accenture, told investors and analysts. At that pace, Accenture will remain the second-biggest employer in the IT industry. Tata Consultancy Services had overtaken the company in headcount in 2013, a title Accenture has since taken back. TCS' hiring, the most aggressive among Indian IT firms, will be around 65,000 in FY16, falling far short of Accenture's recruitment. TCS' financial year ends in March. CU Shining at GO KART DESIGN CHALLENGE

Team Shell of Chandigarh University stands 1st in Punjab & North India and 8th in India at the National Pre-Final Co-Kart design Challenge 2015. The competition was held at Acropolis Technical Campus at Indore from Aug 22 – Aug 23, 2015. Team Shell comprised of 25 members led by team leaders Rakesh Kumar and Ivpreet Kaur. Clearing this pre final round Team Shell has qualified to take part in the final competition where they will compete with 105 teams all over India. This competition is designed to bring and enhance good engineering approach and practice for graduating and diploma students in engineering.
