Vandana Chauhan: A Cybersecurity Trailblazer

In the realm of Computer Science Engineering, Vandana Chauhan, a student at CU, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a staggering placement offer of Rs 54.75 LPA at Palo Alto Networks.

With her inquisitive mind and exceptional skills, Vandana is set to embark on a progressive professional journey with the renowned American multinational cybersecurity company.

Pawan Kumar Sehrawat: Kabaddi Star and Arjuna Awardee

Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, the Captain of India Men's Kabaddi Team and a CU student, added another feather to his cap by being honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award.

Bestowed upon him by the Hon'ble President of India on January 9, 2024, Pawan is not only a kabaddi luminary but also the highest-paid Pro-Kabaddi League Player in history.

Aruna Tanwar: ParaTaekwondo Sensation

CU's Aruna Tanwar has carved a niche for herself as India's 1st Paralympian in ParaTaekwondo.

Her exceptional skills and unwavering determination have earned her a Hattrick of International Gold Medals, triumphing at the President Cup Para Taekwondo Championship, the Oceania Para Taekwondo Championship, and the Australia Open Para Taekwondo Championship.

Arshdeep Singh: Cricketing Marvel

Arshdeep Singh, the star Indian Pacer and CU student, created history by becoming the first Indian pacer in ODIs to claim a five-wicket haul against South Africa in South Africa, showcasing his prowess on the international cricketing stage.

Reetika Hooda: History-Making Wrestler

CU student and India's ace wrestler, Reetika Hooda, etched her name in history by becoming India's first-ever female wrestler to win the U-23 World Wrestling Championship. 

Her remarkable victory against some of the world's finest female wrestlers is a testament to her brilliance and determination.

Palak Kohli: Para-Badminton Prodigy

Palak Kohli, yet another exceptional athlete from CU, secured a GOLD medal in the Singles Category and a SILVER medal in the Doubles Category at the International Para-Badminton Tournament in Uganda, showcasing her prowess on the global stage.

CU's Sporting Triumphs: American Football, Khelo India, and More

CU's American Football Team emerged victorious in the All India Inter University American Football Championship, displaying top-notch performance and securing laurels for the university.

The robust students of CU also made a mark at the Khelo India University Games 2023, contributing significantly to the Indian Government's Khelo India initiative by securing the #11 overall position and winning an impressive tally of 16 medals, including 7 Gold, 5 Silver & 4 Bronze Medals.

Hackathon Glories 

CU's prowess extends beyond sports to the realm of innovation. Team Vyakriti from CU triumphed in the Green India Hackathon (North Zone), securing the first place and earning a cash prize of Rs 20,000 along with an electric scooter worth Rs 80,000.
Additionally, CU's Team Tech Titans, Team Techno Tuners, and Team Shikwa brought glory home by securing top ranks in the Technovation Hackathon5 organized by Sharda University.

 Chandigarh University now has the highest number of ABET accredited engineering courses among private universities in the country Chandigarh University (CU), Gharuan, has earned the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) recognition for its nine engineering programmes. Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu claimed that CU now has the highest number of ABET accredited engineering courses among private universities in the country. Honorable Chancellor, S. Satnam Singh Sandhu added that ABET, a premier global accreditation organisation for engineering and engineering technology programmes, is considered as evidence of an engineering programme’s standards.
