Introduced to Programming by his Seniors, this CUian is now placed at Arcesium!

CSE Student Raghav Mandowara secures the highest salary package at this year’s Campus Placements

Success comes to those who yearn and work hard for it. The everyday hard work one puts in may not be visible to many, but its fruits are. Riding towards success on the back of dedication and sheer hard work, Chandigarh University's CSE Student Raghav Mandowara secured placement in Arcesium Pvt Ltd at the salary package of Rs 36 LPA. One of the largest global corporations, Arcesium is known for recruiting top-notch professional and raw talent.

During his journey to success, everything seemed to be going right for Raghav after getting enrolled in CSE, however, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic imposed a temporary halt in his progress. Highlighting the culture of CU, Raghav remarked that he was missing the campus for its uniqueness, fun and education.

On being asked what made him join CU, Raghav replied, “The main thing every student look for is placement, and after degree, one wants to have good placement. I had studied the portfolio of Chandigarh University and its placements and they have been growing with each passing year.”

He further added that the CU has a beautiful campus and he chose the varsity over other non-private colleges because of its merits.

Over the years, Chandigarh University has been uplifting the placement scenario with the number of recruiters and placements rising annually. The abundance of opportunities provides the students to sit for placement interviews during their pre-final year. Rohit’s preparation had also begun sooner when his seniors introduced him to Programming.

Raghav mentioned,” My seniors were very helpful. Plus, CU arranged a summer training for me to learn more about programming from my first year. By my second year, I started to solve the problems. Even though I was still learning and a bit weak in certain areas, I had enough support to solve each of my problems.”

“The DCPD department, especially, was very helpful in helping me develop my extra-curricular skills with mock interviews, soft skills and helped me build self-confidence,” he added. Raghav also highlighted CU’s pre-placement training program that prepares students for their placement interview.

When asked if he had applied with any other MNC before joining Arcesium Pvt. Ltd., Raghav replied,” I had applied at Informatica but my soft skills were so poor that I couldn’t even explain the technical stuff properly.”

Howbeit, Raghav overcame his shortcomings with assistance from his teachers at the varsity. During his next interview with Arcesium, Raghav had developed good communication skills that helped him secure a placement offer of Rs. 36 LPA. He was also joined by three other CUians who got placed at Arcesium.

Despite the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, these students were able to capitalize on the opportunities provided by Chandigarh University. “When I heard of people losing their jobs because of COVID, I got tensed. Even though I knew that CU would bring MNC’s to the campus placements, I had no idea that the number would be even higher than the last time. The placement team of CU helped me and other students at every stage,” exclaimed Raghav.

Furthermore, the CSE student shared his professional experience in the industry. He highlighted the importance of hands-on and experiential learning in succeeding in the professional world. Also, he added that extracurricular events, workshops, seminars and every other learning opportunity had been crucial in his journey. Raghav affirmed that the practical approach in learning at CU has aided him in taking a grasp of things sooner than expected.

At the end of it, Raghav shared his message for other budding professionals and remarked, ”First of all, it is important for you to have an aim. Once you start working towards your aim, new ways will keep opening up. Realize what you’re doing and what you need to do. If you’re at CU, I’m sure our guides will help you but you also need to make sure that you try your best.”
