PLACEMENT TALK WITH YOUNG JOURNALISTS FROM CU PLACED AT ZEE

Campus Placements avail a student with the opportunity to pursue their dream profession, inculcate required skills in a specific trade or industry of their choice and also their employability skills for real-life work. While a placement amplifies their knowledge of the industry, it also guides them towards making better-informed decisions as they move further in their professional life.

One of the leaders in campus placements, Chandigarh University has developed a vast network of students turned professionals in various trades. Ensuring the participation of blue-chip multinationals in campus placements amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the varsity generated over 5000 placement offers for its students recently with the highest offered package of Rs. 35 LPA and opportunity to work in diverse fields.

Exploring the vast field of mass communication and journalism, Chandigarh University’s Journalism graduates have been making a mark in their respective fields. Pursuing professional opportunities in the field of journalism, graduates from the University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS), Amritpal Singh Pannu and Anjali have signed up with India’s one of the leading digital and mass media organizations, Zee Media.

Fine students of Journalism, both Amritpal and Anjali aspired to reach the pinnacle of their careers in this field while serving the democracy with dignity and responsibility. Considering the magnitude of mass media, which possess the ability to influence the masses, both CUians believed that it was their ethical and moral responsibility to represent the common people and keep strengthening the fourth pillar of democracy.

“It’s a matter of pride to be in this field and work with a large organization as you get to learn a lot. I’m looking forward to learning new things and garner some valuable experience from this place,” said Amritpal, when asked about his professional journey with Zee. Anjali, on the other hand, remarked that there was a lot that needed to be learned and her focus was to learn and grow while keeping the journalism ethics in her mind.

With an aspiration of upholding the spirit of democracy and serve journalism ethically, Chandigarh University’s Alumni from the UIMS, Amritpal and Anjali have undertaken their duties as journalists. Having been a part of industry-visits, workshops, industry-mentorship, international & national fests, etc., there was a lot in the way of these two young journalists from CU that helped them progress.

While they scale higher in their professional careers, Amritpal and Anjali will also be sharing their success stories at the virtual placement talk session being organized by Chandigarh University. The UIMS Alumni will in a live conversation at Chandigarh University’s official Social Media handles on this upcoming Friday at 5 pm.
