CU earns Diamond Rating from QS I-Gauge

First University to receive Diamond Rating in all Primary Categories.

 The New Academic Session of 2020-21 has just begun and Chandigarh University has kept up its tradition of justifying the titles bestowed upon the university and earning new accolades and achievements. After having performed significantly well in the Best College/University Rankings by esteemed organizations such as The Week, India today, Chandigarh University has now received ‘Diamond’ Rating from QS I-Guage Ratings. The ratings have been based on globally recognized QS World Rankings and Chandigarh University has performed exceptionally.



A unique rating system, QS I-GAUGE brings together the global expertise, experience and reputation of UK based QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) and captures the essence of the dynamic Indian higher education system and conforms to international standards and best practices. Also, it further inculcates deep local knowledge of luminaries from higher education in India. The QS-IGAUGE evaluates a higher educational institution on seven parameters. The parameters deal with Teaching and Learning, Faculty Quality, Facilities, Employability, Social Responsibility, Student Diversity, and Innovation.  Chandigarh University in 2020 has been bestowed upon with the ‘Diamond’ Rating in all these categories by the QS I·GAUGE.

The university’s achievement is commendable and unique in more than one ways as Chandigarh University has become the first university to earn Diamond Rating in all the Primary Categories. Apart from it, Chandigarh University has been performing significantly well in the region as well. While being the first to receive the Diamond rating in all the primary categories, Chandigarh University has also become the first university in Punjab to receive the honor.

Furthermore, Chandigarh University has again made its mark in the field of innovation in higher education. In this year’s QS-IGAUGE Ratings, CU is the one of the only two universities to receive Diamond rating in Innovation. Riding on the back of their consistency in keeping up the educational standards, CU has been ranked amongst the Top 20 Universities in India to receive an Overall Diamond Rating.

After having been ranked amongst top higher educational institutions under national surveys or by higher educational bodies, Chandigarh University has earned another major ratings and recognition within a month of the commencement of the new academic session.
