Chandigarh University every year sets new yardsticks as far as placements are concerned. 2018 was no different. As many as 3750 Engineering students were selected during the campus placements atChandigarh University which saw more than 240 multinational companies participated.

Chandigarh University has established new benchmarks in campus placements for Engineering students in placement session 2018-19 as there was a jump of 30 % in the number of companies thronging campus for recruitments” said Dr R S Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University.
Global industry giants such as Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Hewlett Packard, SAP Labs, Samsung, L&T drafted engineering students as a mammoth jump of 70 percent were witnessed in the number of offers made this year.
Out of the total 240 engineering domain companies, more than 100 MNCs offered packages worth more than Rs 5 LPA while number of companies offering package worth more than RS 10 LPA touched 25 this year. It is prominent that highest package of Rs 31.77 LPA was offered by global E-Commerce giant Amazon.
The placements for Computer Science Engineering and IT branch dominated 2018-19 placement season as more than 2030 students were recruited during campus placements this year. Global IT giant Microsoft has made a hat trick of recruitments at Chandigarh University as it was the third time in a row that it selected CU students, this time the count being 15. Leading IT giants of India Wipro, Capgemini and Mindtree made 394,217 and 101 recruitments respectively.  Also, yet another Global giant IBM conscripted 196 engineering students which is the highest number of selections made in any campus in North India. More than 115 companies with pay packages of as high as Rs.9 LPA curtained around 530 students during the placement season 2018. International Construction Company, Leighton selected more than 15 Civil Engineering students during campus placements with the highest package touching Rs 15 LPA.
While talking about placements of Electronics & Communication and Electrical branches, Vice-Chancellor said, “More than 37 companies recruited 628 engineering students from these branches and the highest package offered touched Rs 10 LPA. While the selection of Electronics & Communication Engineering students were done by top notch telecom & mobile manufacturing companies including Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communication, Verizon, Lava; electronics and home appliance companies like Panasonic, Samsung also selected the students from these branches.

9 Engineering courses at Chandigarh University get ABET accreditation

 Chandigarh University now has the highest number of ABET accredited engineering courses among private universities in the country Chandigarh University (CU), Gharuan, has earned the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) recognition for its nine engineering programmes. Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu claimed that CU now has the highest number of ABET accredited engineering courses among private universities in the country. Honorable Chancellor, S.
