Arvind Kumar, an M.A. Public Administration student and NSS volunteer, recently performed an extraordinary act of compassion and selflessness that has touched many hearts. By donating his stem cells, Arvind has given a new lease on life to an 8-year-old child bravely battling cancer. This heartfelt gesture not only brought hope and healing to a young life but also showcased the profound impact that our students can make on the world.

A Journey of Compassion

Months after registering, Arvind received a call informing him that he was a perfect match for an 8-year-old cancer patient in dire need of a stem cell transplant. Without a moment's hesitation, Arvind agreed to proceed with the donation process. His family, friends, and university supported him wholeheartedly, recognizing the immense significance of his decision.

The Donation Process

Stem cell donation is a complex yet life-saving procedure. Arvind underwent a series of medical tests to ensure he was fit to donate. The process involved the extraction of peripheral blood stem cells, a non-invasive method that is similar to donating blood. Throughout the procedure, Arvind remained calm and focused, driven by the thought of helping the young patient in need.
